About this Event

Empowering Young Nigerians With Lifesaving Safety Knowledge
SafeMinds School Safety Initiative is a free nationwide school outreach programme dedicated to teaching primary and secondary school students practical safety awareness skills that help them identify risks, prevent accidents, respond to emergencies, and make safer decisions every day.

Our goal is too create a generation of safety-conscious young Nigerians who can protect themselves, their classmates, their families, and their communities.

Why School Safety Matters

Every day, children face risks that can often be prevented through basic safety awareness. These include:

  • Fire incidents
  • Electrical accidents
  • Unsafe school environments
  • Chemical exposure
  • Bullying and peer pressure
  • Road and transportation risks
  • Emergency situations
  • Personal safety threats

Key Highlights of the Event

Many students have never received formal safety education despite facing these risks regularly. SafeMinds bridges this gap by delivering short, engaging, practical safety awareness sessions directly in schools.

Our Mission: To equip young Nigerians with practical safety knowledge and awareness that empowers them to make informed decisions and respond appropriately to potential dangers.

Our Vision: A Nigeria where every child possesses the knowledge, confidence, and awareness needed to stay safe at school, at home, and in their communities.

What We Teach

  • Fire & Physical Hazard Awareness: Helping students recognize common fire risks and dangerous environments.
  • Electrical Safety: Teaching children how to identify and avoid electrical hazards.
  • Chemical Hazard Awareness: Introducing students to common household and school chemical risks.
  • Personal Safety & Situational Awareness: Developing awareness skills that help students identify unsafe situations.
  • Emergency Response & Alarm Raising: Teaching what to do during emergencies and how to seek help effectively.
  • Peer Risk & Unsafe Situations: Helping students understand the consequences of unsafe behavior and negative peer influence.

How The Programme Works

  • Step 1 – School Registration: Schools express interest through the registration portal.
  • Step 2 – Programme Scheduling: Visits are arranged with school administrators.
  • Step 3 – Interactive Safety Sessions: Students participate in engaging safety awareness presentations.
  • Step 4 – Educational Resource Distribution: Schools receive safety awareness materials and support resources.
  • Step 5 – Ongoing Engagement: Schools become part of the growing SafeMinds safety network.

Why Schools Participate
